Elizabeth Le Feuvre

Elizabeth is a portrait and landscape painter based in England.

‘Capturing light is what inspires me to pick up my brushes. Portraiture and landscapes bring equal joy and challenges. My two boys inspired my earliest foray into portraiture, and I feel very lucky to enjoy panoramic views round our countryside home. The surrounding hills, sheep-dotted fields and Oxford canal make for an endlessly inspiring setting in which to put brush to canvas and I’m reminded daily what a gift it is to live somewhere offering an ever-changing seasonal landscape.

The only thing we miss on occasion is the coast – visits to Cornwall year round are treasured while we return for summer visits to my childhood home, the island of Jersey, which our children have come to know and love. These coastlines feature often in my paintings and are close to my heart. Also frequently on my easel is Oxford – my husband and I met on our first day at Oxford University, where we read Classics together as students and where we later married. He takes full credit for organising framing, photography and order processing – grateful to have him often by my side when I am painting.’
